Since 1999, LANIT-PLM Solutions Department has been successfully deploying comprehensive PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems for manufacturers of advanced engineering products. The Department uses heavy-class PLM solutions for manufacturing.

The PLM Solutions Department is a team of engineers who update and transform product development and manufacturing, and build new digital design tools. We customize our solutions for each customer to boost productivity and reduce costs. We survey the end-to-end product life cycle and identify the bottlenecks. As a result, Implementation of comprehensive integrated new technology that ensures the processing of requirements and verification of product ideas through design, production and operation.

We Focus on

Projects

Implementation of Advanced Product and Process Development tools

The project is comprehensive and involves all stages of the product life cycle, starting from planning and ending with the approval of digital design and production documentation in production. A key feature of the project is the transition of manufacturing unit in to manufacturing based on digital prototypes of design and manufacturing documents: the original design documentation is presented in the form of electronic models, and the manufacturing documents is presented in the form of digital manufacturing processes.

Three Project Phases.

1. Pilot project: mastering the associative, context-based top-bottom approach to product design, building 3D models of the product components, and developing digital manufacturing processes.

2. Test-industrial operation, during which it is expected to produce 2 tractor models with a gradual increase in the number of employees involved in the project.

3. Industrial operation, in which it is expected to implement a full transition of all design and manufacturing units of the company to work based on the new methodology.

Implementation of Product Life Cycle Management technology

The PLM Solutions Department LANIT team has implemented the advanced, PLM-based helicopter development processes. The result is better design quality, easier change management, and paperless documentation release to the shop floor. In this project, we collaborated with the Bauman Moscow State Technical University team which built digital models of the existing products.

Creating digitalized process for the development of products and enhancing the functions of PLM systems

In one of the largest design offices for the development of gas turbine engines for aviation and also for the gas turbine installation industry, the LANIT-PLM Solutions Department team implemented the context based top-bottom design methodology in product design

The project objectives are: to increase design quality, reduce product development efforts, and strengthen personnel skills. The customer is using new approaches to develop the advanced PD-14 and PD-35 jet engines for passenger aircraft.

Implementation of digitalized manufacturing preparation

The LANIT-PLM Solutions Department team is assisting the helicopter jet engine manufacturer with its transformation to manufacturing simulation and digital manufacturing processes. It will boost production planning quality and reduce time-to-market through digitalization. Besides the digital manufacturing project, the LANIT team will implement another project for better digital design quality and introduce new approaches to product development.

Implementation of paperless production technology in the field of shipbuilding (Catamaran type)

Context-based top-bottom approach to product development and manufacturing. The approach is based on the product digital mockup, the digital definition of the hull/equipment assembly sequences, and computerized workstations on the shop floor. With digital design and manufacturing, the shipyard has greatly improved the building quality, reduced time-to-market, and decreased changes to the vessel hip components. The design is parametric to produce a series of similar vessels varying in length and displacement.

Digitalized design development for Hydro turbine components

Comprehensive deployment of the context-based top-bottom approach to product development and manufacturing and digital product mockups. With the transformation of the existing product development processes, and the new approaches and tools, we’ve achieved the project objectives in terms of reducing product engineering and manufacturing costs. For the first time in Russia, we introduced computerized shop floor workstations to access the digital manufacturing processes and annotated 3D models of the hydro turbine components.

Implementing the project in a single platform for creating the digital twin in design and production

The STM R&D Center develops innovative railway rolling stock for in-house use. In partnership with LANIT, it is working on a digital product development and manufacturing project. The project uses the product digital mockup technology and the Prime Digital Manufacturing domestic software. The project object is improving product quality, eliminating design and manufacturing errors, and reducing time-to-market through a more efficient manufacturing process planning stage.

Implementation of Advanced Product and Process Development tools

The LANIT PLM Solution’s department has successfully deployed an advanced product development and manufacturing system at the manufacturing plant of mining excavator. We’ve developed a general, highly parametrized digital model for a range of quarry excavators. The model is associated with the excavator detailed design (digital mockup). This significantly accelerated the product design of a quarry excavator family and improved the assemblability.
